Thickness In Glass
Flat glass comes in various thicknesses. Glass is produced in standard metric thicknesses of 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 12, 15, 19 mm. The difference in thickness dictates the use of a particular glass for a certain application.
When glass is used in buildings externally or internally it is often of a safety type, which includes reinforced, toughened and laminated glasses. Standard safety glass thickness used mostly range from 4mm to 12mm . When it comes to choosing a thickness between 10mm to 19mm it is mostly a matter of preference and the usage type . Obviously a thicker glass offers the greater structural integrity and durability with a more impressive look as well as a more premium feel.
